Commissioned by Talpa and RTL, Baker Street has produced 20 fall platforms and 4 trap shutters for the TV program "Janzen and van Dijk, for all your weddings and parties". These fall platforms were in 2 huge decor cakes.
The idea behind the show is that, 2 future married couples compete against each other, together with their family. The main prize is a trough the production paid wedding.
Each party has 10 family members on the "their cake" in the endgame. If a family member gives a false answer, that member falls through the cake. Finally, the bridal couple falls, than the other wedding couple wins the show.
The fall platforms went down with the gravity speed in less 2.4 meter fall height, including the brake trajectory.
The challenge was to keep the candidates in one piece and save. But also the safety, in combination with workability and show continuity, for the backstage crew was very important.
The show has been successful in the months of March and April in 2017.
